Vintage kimono fabric in a frame – Yuzen (The Tale of Genji)

A fragment of silk kimono fabric with a motif inspired by "The Tale of Genji."
It was created from traditional tsumugi chirimen kimono fabric – silk with a subtly crinkled texture – decorated using the yuzen technique, known for its precise, painterly designs.

Yuzen is a traditional Japanese fabric dyeing technique developed during the Edo period by Miyazaki Yūzensai.
It is characterized by the use of a resist paste to define the outlines of the pattern, allowing for incredibly precise, painterly, and intensely colored decorations.

The fabric has no stains or dirt, however, it is a used product made from vintage material.
Each piece is unique – there is only one in the world.
