The spirit of Japanese craftsmanship from Banshu – the birthplace of blacksmithing

Ono City in Hyogo Prefecture has been recognized for centuries as one of Japan's most important centers for blade production. In this nature-surrounded place, the "Onoyoshi" company has dedicated itself exclusively to the art of tool manufacturing for over 80 years.

Since its establishment in 1936 as a knife forge, for three generations not only technical knowledge has been passed down, but also the pride of creating tools for people who love plants.

100 Steps – uniqueness hidden in every copy

At first glance, all secateurs may seem similar. However, every Onoyoshi product is created through the traditional manual forging process of hizukuri hon-tanzo, which involves shaping steel at high temperatures.

From cutting the material, through forging, grinding, and hardening, to the final finish –

each pair of secateurs undergoes over 100 production steps before it reaches your hands.

Craftsmen put a tremendous amount of work and heart into each one, bringing the tool to life.

Just as every person has a unique face, so too do handmade secateurs possess their subtle individuality.

It is this feature – impossible to replicate in mass production – that makes the tool adapt better to your hand with each use.

More than sharpness – the choice of professionals

Onoyoshi secateurs are chosen by professional orchardists and gardeners worldwide not only for their exceptional sharpness. Their strengths also include user comfort and aesthetic appeal.

Combining traditional techniques with modern design, these products reflect the pride of Japanese manufacturing culture – monozukuri.

A tool you can rely on

"Onoyoshi" secateurs are more than just a tool – they will become your indispensable aid in garden work.
